The urban studies department offers a minor for undergraduates -- the only one of
its kind in Connecticut -- that focuses on urban environment and development and their
impact on American society. It is an interdisciplinary program that enriches the work
of professionals in many other careers such as teaching, social work, political science,
and business. Graduates with an urban studies minor help address the challenges and
dire needs facing American urban centers such as housing, transportation, and intergroup
relations. Students choose from three concentrations: planning and development, management,
and urban education.
