The social science

What is a social science?
It is just that - a science that studies society, the relationships among human beings.
History looks at our past, while Geography examines our connection to the landscape.
Anthropology considers our changes through time and space, and Psychology looks at
our behavior. Sociology focuses on our relationships and Political Science considers
our rules for living and governing. Media Studies emphasizes how media create and
change cultural environments.
A student who majors in the Social Sciences learns to be a careful observer, skilled
researcher, creative analyst, and expert communicator.
Grappling with our complicated and shifting relationships - whether between countries
or individuals, world leaders, or parent and child - the Social Scientist seeks to
reveal and understand who we are as individuals and who we are together.
