Mission statement

The faculty and staff of the Department of Management and Management Information Systems (MIS) are committed to helping students prepare for productive and progressively more responsible careers. We seek to achieve this collaboratively with our multiple stakeholders - students, faculty, employers, community members, and governmental agencies.  Together we create, apply, and integrate knowledge; pursue a rigorous approach to solving problems;  utilize an entrepreneurial way of thinking; welcome human diversity and international exchange; improve organizational skills proficiency such as  interpersonal communication competency and decision-making capacity infused with ethical judgment.  We encourage life-long learning, the pursuit of personal and professional opportunity, the exploration of unknowns, the establishment of cooperative relationships, the quest for creativity, and the celebration of a curious mind. In accord with the over-arching missions of the University and the School of Business, we are committed to the ongoing pursuit of a climate of academic excellence.
