The CSP department holds certain priorities, values, and expectations to be important in our training process. Every student is evaluated on several professional standards in addition to their academic performance. For more information, you can read about these Continuation Criteria.
All courses that are listed on your course sequence form for your degree are granted permissions automatically prior to the open registration date. Please note that sections are on a first come, first serve basis, so ensure to register early if you have a need for a specific section of a course.
Please note that financial aid laws do not allow the addition of electives not required in your degree to change your status from PT to FT (9 credits). You may take an elective in another program if you stay below 4.5 credits and are not receiving financial aid OR are already taking 9 credits for your program. If this is accurate, then complete the Course Permissions form electronically and submit it to the Program Coordinator of your program for permissions. After they sign off, you may submit it to the Department Chair for final approval. Once approval is granted, you can register as usual.
As a student in one of our programs, you are expected to have a strong professional commitment demonstrated by membership in several professional associations at the state, regional, and national levels.
At the state level, each program expects that students will not only join their specialty association, but attend meetings and workshops, and be prepared to become leaders in their field. Our students have consistently had professional papers and research accepted for presentations.
