ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
To obtain information/application packets, applicants should download the forms below or contact the Counseling and School Psychology Department office at (203) 392-5910 or cmhcadmissions@southernct.edu.
Candidates for the program must:
- Have a minimum undergraduate quality point ratio of 3.0
- Take the following pre-requisites: Introduction to Psychology, Statistics in Psychology (or Research Methods), Abnormal Psychology

- Submit a 500-word essay describing the basis of their interest in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program and their desire to enter the profession.
- Submit a resume.
- Submit a minimum of three recommendations attesting to their professional promise and academic ability. Most of those providing recommendations also include a personal letter about the applicant.
- If invited, meet with the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Faculty members for an admissions interview.
Application Procedures
- Complete SCSU Graduate Application (click bolded words for application) and pay application fee through Graduate School
- Send official transcripts to:

- Personal Essay with cover page (click "cover page" to download)
- Resume
- Three completed recommendation forms (click "forms" to download) (Recommenders may prefer to enclose in an envelope with their signature across the envelope seal OR to send directly

Admissions Deadlines
Admissions to the program occurs once a year. All application materials must be received by January 15 for fall admission.
