Educational leadership is currently experiencing its "golden age" (Leithwood & Day, 2007), and we are committed to delivering high-quality, service-oriented professional programs to meet the needs of aspiring school leaders in Connecticut and beyond.
Gaps in achievement and other inequities demand the attention and informed action
of leaders equipped with the knowledge, skills, and passion to sustain successes and
improve the delivery of education from various setting perspectives: P-16 educational
institutions, government agencies, and education-affiliated organizations.
Ours is program that prepares school leaders to focus on systemic thinking; taking
into account the needs of diverse learners and communities as they strive to improve
student experiences and achievement. Our program develops practitioners grounded
in the latest research prepared with the interpersonal and communication skills necessary
for strong and powerful leadership.
Our seasoned faculty members bring a broad range of experiences from the principalship,
the superintendency, public schools, non-charter and charter public schools, private
schools, and organizations concerned with, and involved in, research and evaluation.
They have experience with non-profit organizations, the business sector, the policy
sector, and a wide range of local, national, and global education initiatives.
We offer programs and/or coursework in the following educational leadership areas:
- Intermediate Administrator (092) Certification
- Sixth Year Professional Diploma
- Superintendent of Schools (093) Certification
- Ed.D./Doctorate in Educational Leadership
