Admission to the Ed.D./Doctoral Program

The admissions process for the doctoral program is selective and occurs once per year.  The application deadline for September enrollment in any given year is the previous March 1st.  The application consists of the following:

  1. Completed School of Graduate Studies application form with the $50 fee (you may do this on-line).  Completed EDL Ed.D./Doctoral Program Application Form which you should return to the EDL Department.
     
  2.  Transcripts (bachelor's degree and master's degree) from a regionally accredited institution

  3.  Current resume

  4.  Three (3) letters of recommendation that attest to the applicant's leadership potential

  5. Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores (for information regarding the GRE, click here)

  6.  A "Statement of Interest" describing why the applicant wishes to enter the program, how current and past professional experiences have led to this goal, and how the Ed.D. fits into the candidate's future plans

  7.  Effective written and verbal communication skills and seriousness of purpose as evidenced in an in-person interview and writing exercise
