Due to the impending snowstorm, the university closed at 11 a.m. Monday (Jan. 26)
for students, faculty and non-essential staff. All classes scheduled to start after
11 a.m. Monday are canceled. While the residence halls will remain open with limited
services, residential students are strongly advised to return home Monday if they
are safely able to do so. With blizzard-like conditions expected as the storm intensifies
late Monday through Tuesday, movement around campus to Connecticut Hall and other
locations will be difficult. The university will remain closed Tuesday during the
height of the storm. Wednesday's status will be announced once the extent of the cleanup
after the storm is known.
Lisa Atkins began State Service in 1988 as a clerk typist. She was promoted in 1989
to Secretary I.
Ms. Atkins has been an SCSU employee since 1997 working with the Affirmative Action
office. In 1998 she was promoted to Secretary II. She has worked with the Department
of Educational Leadership as a Secretary II since the Fall 2004 semester.
Lisa's primary responsibility is to the Chair but in addition, she provides support
for 13 faculty and, depending on the need, multiple adjunct faculty. Lisa says, "
I appreciate being given a voice."
