This degree program leads to certification in elementary schools with both English-speaking and limited-English proficient students. Program graduates will hold dual certification in elementary education and bilingual education, as well as hold dual degrees: a Bachelor of Science in elementary education and a Bachelor of Science in the language content area of their choice.
Before admission into the program, students must pass the American Council of Teachers of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) oral exam, as well as pass the ACTFL written exam in their final semester of study, prior to student teaching.
Students in this program should consult with two advisers, one within the Elementary Education Department and one within the Foreign Languages Department.
