Staff

The Center for Communication Disorders is staffed by clinical instructors and faculty from the Department of Communication Disorders. All are certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association in speech-language pathology, and are licensed by the Connecticut State Department of Health Services. Clinical instructors and faculty are responsible for planning, managing, and supervising all evaluation and treatment services, which are provided by graduate student clinicians of the Department of Communication Disorders.

Fees

The Center for Communication Disorders charges a modest fee for all services, billed at the time service is provided. A sliding scale is available for those who qualify, based on income. We are unable to accept Medicare, Medicaid and other insurances, and are unable to serve Medicare B recipients. A complete schedule of fees is available upon request.

Referral

The Center for Communication Disorders accepts referrals from physicians, school systems, community and health agencies, parents and families, as well as through self-referral. All participants must undergo a comprehensive evaluation at the center to identify eligibility for therapy services and determine the frequency and duration of individual and/or group treatment. If we cannot schedule your treatment immediately after an evaluation, if eligible, your name will be placed on a waiting list pending availability of services.
