Welcome to the Department of Recreation, Tourism, & Sport Management at Southern Connecticut State University! Our programs represent some of the largest industries in the world.

Professionals trained in recreation, recreation therapy, child life therapy, tourism, event management, & sport management work in a variety of settings: community agencies, federal, state, & municipal agencies, state & federal parks, private commercial enterprises, professional, intercollegiate, & interscholastic sport organizations, youth development organizations, not-for-profit organizations, hospitals & rehabilitation settings, as well as travel, hospitality, & entertainment venues.

Connecticut Recreation & Parks Association (CRPA) Awards & Scholarships

On November 21st, 2017, CRPA held their annual awards luncheon to recognize outstanding achievements and contributions by individuals who have provided excellent service and dedication to the parks and recreation profession. This year, SCSU students Brittany Czajkowski and Leah Whitaker were honored by the CRPA. Brittany was awarded the Dorothy G. Mullen Student Scholarship, while Leah is the recipient of the George Sanford Student Scholarship! The Recreation, Tourism, & Sport Management department also recognizes these notable achievements and congratulates Brittany and Leah on their accomplishments!
