Social Work Department Advising

Advising

Students who have declared social work as their major, or who are considering declaring or changing their major to social work, meet individually with a faculty member to learn about the eligibility requirements and application process for the BSW program, receive their alternate PIN number, and receive guidance regarding registration for the next semester.

Students participate in the advisement process by reviewing the advising powerpoint PRIOR to their appointment.

Students are expected to bring a copy of their current degree evaluation, their registration worksheet and a list of questions to their advising appointment.

See the Advising Powerpoints link on the left to access the powerpoint and the worksheet.

Schedule an advising appointment:  October and March are the months to remember to call the Social Work department's main number (203-392-6573) to schedule a time for advisement for the next semester.
