ACADEMIC ADVISeRS
Academic advisers are professional advisers located in the Academic Advisement Center and members of the faculty. When you choose your major, you should go to the respective department and ask to be assigned an adviser. You should meet with this individual well in advance of the next registration period. This would be no later than the end of October for the spring semester, and no later than the end of March for fall registration.
You are encouraged to receive advisement every semester to prepare for appropriate and accurate course selection. You have a right to good advisement from your adviser. Advisers are responsible for reviewing your course work each semester and for updating your program. Remember to make appointments and keep them. If you are not receiving satisfactory advisement, in your view, then request to be reassigned to another adviser by the department chairperson or department secretary, whichever is appropriate.
