K

enneth McGill is a linguistic anthropologist focusing on political language.  His dissertation research has to do with the discursive construction of the welfare state in the former East Berlin, and focuses in particular on the discursive construction of "interests."  He has also done research on street newspapers and "empowerment" programs for homeless people in both Europe and the United States.  In addition to linguistic anthropology, his interests include individual expression in urban settings, political economy and semiotics.
