The social science

What is a social science?

It is just that - a science that studies society, the relationships among human beings.

History looks at our past while Geography examines our connection to the landscape.  Anthropology considers our changes through time and space and Psychology looks at our behavior.  Sociology focuses on our relationship and Political Science consider our rules for living and governing.  Media Studies emphasizes how media create and change cultrual environments.

A student who majors in the Social Sciences learns to be a careful observer, skilled researcher, creative analyst, and expert communicator.

Grappling with our complicated and shifting relationships - whether between countries or individuals, would leaders, or parent and child - the Social Scientist seeks to reveal and understand who we are as individuals and who we are together.
