EXPLANATION OF REQUIRED FEES
The following is a list of the required fees for Full-Time students per Connecticut State University Board of Trustees:
REQUIRED FEES FOR FULL-TIME STUDENTS
State University Fee: This fee is used to support the costs associated with the maintaining and repairing of student facilities (building) such as residence halls and the student center.
General Fee: This fee supports the operational costs associated with intercollegiate athletics, student center, student ID, accident insurance, parking facilities, and shuttle bus services.
Media Fee: This fee supports student media publications and organizations such as student newspaper, student literary magazine, and student radio station.
Student Activity Fee: This fee is used to support university recognized clubs, and student center programs and functions.
Health Insurance: This fee is used to provide mandatory health insurance coverage for those full-time students who do not have medical insurance.
Orientation Fee: This fee is used to cover the costs (personnel, food, residence halls, materials, etc) associated with both the New Student Orientations and the Transfer Student Orientations. Because the costs of running these programs are incurred regarless of the number of students who choose to attend, the fee cannot be waived for students who opt not to attend. The orientation fee is also used to cover New Students Welcome Weekend events (for all new first-year and new trasnfer students living on campus), the Transfer Student Welcome Event, and other orientation-related programs such as the Family Mentor Program for transfer students and the "Owl to Owl" book of advice and tips for all incoming students.
REQUIRED FEES FOR PART-TIME STUDENTS
Part Time Tuition/Fees (Fall/Spring Semesters only) :
PT Undergraduate/Graduate Tuition, eLearning Tuition, MBA/MLS/EdD Program Tuition: This is the tuition portion of the combined Part Time Tuition/Fee charges which are considered part of the overall cost of the educational and instructional expenses associated with the part-time courses.
General University Fee: This is the fee portion of the combined Part Time Tuition/Fee charges which are considered part of the overall cost of the educational and instructional expenses associated with the part-time courses.
Course Fees (Summer/Wintersession/Spring Break): These fees support the educational and instructional expenses associated with the part-time courses.
