Chapter 30 - Montgomery GI Bill Active Duty 

The Montgomery GI Bill Active Duty (MGIB-AD) benefit is for qualified service members with active duty service beginning on or after June 30, 1985


New and First Time Transfer Students

Students new to the University and utilizing the Montgomery GI Bill (service after 6/30/1985) will need to complete the following:

  • VA Form 22-1990 Application for Education Benefits (New Students)
    This application will initiate your benefits with the VA
  • DD Form 214 Report of Separation (New Students)
    University requires this form for their files as part of the university's reporting/verification process for VA benefits
  • VA Form 22-1995 Request for Change of Program or Place of Training (Transfer Students only)
    This form is used to change your program of study or the school you are attending
  • Complete the Web Authorization Verification of Enrollment (WAVE) through the Department of Veteran's Affairs website.
    This form initiates the enrollment verification process through the VA
  • SCSU VA Request for Enrollment Certification available from the Bursar's Office website.
    This form is used to provide required information to the Bursar's Office as part of the VA enrollment certification process

Continuing Students

Continuing students utilizing the Montgomery GI Bill (service after 6/30/1985) need to complete the following each academic year:
