Business Planning Competitions

The CT Business Planning Competition, sponsered by the Entreprenurship Foundation, is held in the Fall and Spring at the New Haven Lawn Club. This semester there were approximately 200 teams competing for positions as finalists from various intramural events held at Universities in Connecticut. There were 12 finalists selected. Students from the MBA562 Business Planning course had 4 teams selected of the 12. This was the highest number from a single school in the history of the competition.  Althought none of the teams were selected for awards, students had  a valuable experience presenting to Angel Investor judges. Each team was limited to a 3 minute presentation with 3 minutes of questions from the judges.

The MBA562 Business Planning Intramural Competition was held over two days in Engleman 120A.

Judges included:

  • President CEO of START Community Bank, Bill Placke
  • Small Business Development Office at SCSU, Mr. Owen Cheevers
  • Webster Bank Senior VP of Treasury & Payment Solutions, Laurance A. Selnick
  • Former banker and current Deputy District Director at the District U.S. Small Business Administration, Julio Casiano;
  • Former banker and current Small Business Development Officer for the City of New Haven, Clay Williams;
  • and Professor Eldridge

MBA562 Business Planning Intramural Competition is scheduled for the Spring Semester on Thursday, May 3rd and 10th at 7:35PM in Engleman 120A. All are invited to attend.
