campus sustainability
Would you like the know more about environmental sustainability at Southern, in the New Haven area, the U.S., and around the world?

By clicking items in the sidebar at the left, you can learn more about what environmental sustainability is, and ways to become more involved at Southern and beyond campus.
In 2007, Southern took a bold step and became a charter signatory of the American College and University Presidents Climate Commitment (PCC). This Commitment means that we will reduce our carbon footprint to zero by 2050 or sooner.
Carbon neutrality in campus operations is an important aspect of environmental sustainability, but the most important environmental mission that the university has is to integrate sustainability into education and campus life here.
Success depends on participation by the entire university community, and we need your help. We invite you to participate-- no effort is too big or too small! Share your questions and ideas with us by clicking Contact Us in the upper right corner.
