SCSU Community Garden
Since its inception in the summer of 2007, the SCSU Community Garden has sought to engage the campus community around food and its importance for a sustainable future.
Pressing global environmental issues often center around food and food production, and the garden is a way to address and educate Southern students and get them involved with pressing issues in the world today. Equipping the Southern community with the knowledge and experience of growing nutritious food and the importance of having that knowledge.
The garden at Southern grows organic tomatoes, squash, cucumbers, broccoli, radishes, peas, beans and more from heirloom seeds and New England seed companies. We strongly support local agriculture, and wish to reconnect students, staff and faculty with quality regional foods.
The garden is located behind Davis Hall.
