Head Coach: Cathi Schneider (Schneiderk4@southernct.edu)

Cathi has been in the Dance, Gymnastic & Rhythmic Gymnastic world for the past 36 years and was a member of the SCSU Dance Theater while attending SCSU. Cathi operated both artistic & rhythmic gymnastic studios, for a combined total of 25 years and had many very successful students who, during their time at the studio, placed in States, Regional and National competitions. She had several students that participated at the United States Rhythmic Gymnastic Training Center in Colorado.  Cathi is a USRG Judge and during her time with the Rhythmic Gymnastic program was Ct State director and Regional Judging Chairman. She has also taught dance and Rhythmic Gymnastics at the Lorraine Judd Studio of Performing Arts, Brass City Ballet, Kingdom Life Dance and the CT Dance Force.

Cathi’s dance career began in 1976 when she auditioned for a semiprofessional, as an untrained dancer, and became a chorus dancer which then moved her into leading dance rolls in numerous other shows, both semiprofessional and professional. Cathi then went on to choreograph at local and regional theaters.

Cathi trained with Lorraine Judd, Jill Chase, Cynthia Stone Arnelis and the Nutmeg Ballet Co. She is certified in Modern, Jazz and Ballet through the Dance Teacher’s Club of Boston & The American Society and Dance Educators of America.

Cathi family includes, Justin,(son) an IT Associate for Achievement First and Joshua, (son) an RPSN in the US Navy and Beauregard, her pet Shepard.

Cathi is both honored and proud to be the Head Coach of the SCSU Dance Team!!!!
