Mrs. Fadden has spent more than two decades at Southern Connecticut State University holding positions as Associate Director of Financial Aid and Director of Alumni Affairs. She joined Career Services in 1997 as the Director of Cooperative Education and was promoted to her current position as Director of Career Services in 2004. Marge has always been active in many aspects of campus life, advocating for students and serving on many key University committees. She has a deep commitment to the University and works tirelessly to ensure the success of all students.

Mrs. Whelan joined the staff of the Career Center in January 2004. She has worked in several offices at the University including Admissions, Financial Aid and Registrar; holding the position of Director of Extended Learning before joining the Career Center. Ms. Whelan brings a diverse background and strong commitment to helping students succeed with their academic and career journey. She coordinates the Cooperative Education helping students gain valuable career related work experience and earn elective credit.

Ms. Prince is a broadly dedicated professional who imparts over 20 years of committed and dedicated service to Southern Connecticut State University. During her tenure Ms. Prince has gained experience in both The Office of Financial Aid and Residence Life. As the Coordinator of Employment Recruitment Programs Ms Prince focuses on building partnerships with employers for current students and alumni for the prospect of employment opportunities. She embraces the value of professionalism and works diligently with all students in developing optimal skills throughout their entire career planning process. Ms. Prince's most favorable aspect of employment at the University is the growth, in a magnitude of areas accomplished by students. She views herself as a role model and mentor, with the success of Southern's students always at her forefront.

Ms. Doherty joined the Career Center staff in 2001 and was promoted to the position of Assistant Director in 2004.  As coordinator of on-campus student employment she works closely with students as well as departments campus wide to facilitate the employment process.  Ms. Doherty also oversees many of the technical aspects of Career Services including the student computer lab and the department website.  In addition, she currently serves as the advisor for Zeta Delta Epsilon (ZDE), a student honor service society.  Ms. Doherty is committed to engaging students in planning for success by maximizing their student experience through a variety of activities and identifying achievements in all that they do.

Ms. Barton has been at Southern for over 20 years and has served as the Administrative Assistant to the President, Associate Director of Alumni Affairs and most recently as the Advancement Services Officer for the Division of Institutional Advancement.  She joined the Center for Career Services in December 2005.  Her responsibiliites include coordinating the biannual career fairs, scheduling workshops and presentations, and developing resources for the Career Center Resource Library.  Ms. Barton brings a vast amount of experience to the Center and is dedicated to assisting our students in reaching their career goals.

Ms. Larson joined the Southern community in September 2006.  Susan worked for the Department of Children and Families in the Meriden office for the previous 7 years.  As a Secretary II she is innovative and organized as she coordinates administrative staff support, manages office operations for the Center for Career Services and supervises student workers.  She is a consummate professional and is delighted with her new environment and happy to be a part of the Career Services team.

Ms. Cubero joined the Southern community in January 2008. Maria worked for the Department of Social Services in the New Havenoffice before transferring to Southern Connecticut State University. As an Office Assistant she enjoys welcoming more than 5000 annual visitors to the Center for Career Services and provides exceptional services with poise and professionalism.  She also provides vital support for several career programs and events.  As an essential team player she is estatic about her new position and looks forward to a long term career at Southern.

 

 

 

 

 

Aimeé Piccin

Ms. Piccin has been a part of the Southern Community since 2001. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Interpersonal and Relational Communication. As an undergraduate student, she was a peer advisor in the Academic Advisement Center for three years. She also completed a year long internship with the Career Center, where she is currently the Graduate Intern. Ms.Piccin is pursuing her Masters in Sociology.
