JOBSs Privacy Statement
The Southern Connecticut State University Center for Career Services is committed to maintaining good privacy practices regarding electronic personal information for all our users. The Center for Career Services contracts with NACElink Network to provide Southern Connecticut State University students and alumni with job listings, and on-campus recruiting and resume services. All data collected for our job listing/resume database and on-campus recruiting services are stored on NACElink secure servers. Information collected is used to provide and tailor services to our users. It is also used to construct aggregate reports that assist us in program planning. Please refer to the NACElink Privacy Policy and NACELink User Agreement for more details.
Collection and access to student information is governed by campus and federal policy under the Federal Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), as well Southern Connecticut State University Information Technology Policy. Through NACELink, known as JOBSs, students and registered alumni can post resumes and view and apply for jobs. The information in a candidate's profile is used by Career Services for job search advising, promoting programs and services, and notifying candidates of employment opportunities, and referring qualified candidates to employers. Only the resumes of students and alumni who have given permission can have their resumes viewed by prospective employers.
Employers do not have access to view information or resumes directly from JOBSs unless students or alumni apply to a specific position or give permission to be included in resume books for employers. Career Services makes every effort to review the appropriateness of jobs before posting. Site users are urged to validate job postings and use caution and common sense when applying for positions. It is strongly recommended that users do not disclose personal information such as Social Security numbers, credit card information, or bank account numbers to unknown employers.
The Center for Career Services may conduct searchers on resumes and candidate profiles to notify candidates of educational or employment opportunities through email communication.
If you have any questions, concerns, or comments regarding the Privacy Policy or privacy issues relating to JOBSs, please contact the Center for Career Services.
