about me
I am an assistant professor in the Chemistry Department at Southern Connecticut State University. My interests include the difficulties encountered while solving chemistry problems and their origins, learning theories, conceptual changes in chemistry, influence of general chemistry laboratories and technology on students? understanding of chemistry concepts in large and small classrooms, and the effect of understanding of the particle nature of matter on the comprehension of the properties of matter and macroscopic phenomena. My teaching responsibilities include general chemistry and chemistry for non-science majors.

Professional Interests
Using qualitative and quantitative research methods to understand how students learn general chemistry topics and find out the causes of the difficulties which students have while learning chemistry and applying it in problems. It is imperative to know how students learn chemistry in order to make instructional interventions more effective and fruitful.
