accelerated bachelor of science and master of science degrees in chemistry
The Chemistry Department is pleased to announce the recent approval of a new track which will allow students to earn both their B.S. and M.S. degrees in five years. This track is for full time students who meet the requirements laid out below. The traditional M.S. track that the Chemistry Department offers for part-time students is still available.
Program requirements
Students who are interested in this program should be undergraduate chemistry majors. During their junior year, they should submit an application to the program. If accepted, students would be required to start graduate courses as well as thesis research during their senior year (in addition to the normal requirements for a B.S. degree). During their fifth year, they would complete their course work as well as a second year of research to complete their M.S. thesis. In order to apply to the program, students must have (and maintain) a minimum 3.0 GPA.
(starting point: math placement in Precalculus*)
