Southern Connecticut State University invites applications for a tenure-track position in Physical Chemistry at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning August 2010.  The chemistry department is ACS approved, offering B.S. and M.S. degrees in chemistry.  A Ph.D. in physical chemistry is required.  Teaching will include undergraduate physical chemistry lecture and lab, general chemistry and graduate level advanced physical chemistry and elective courses in the area of the candidate's expertise.  The development of an innovative research program at both undergraduate and graduate level and experience teaching undergraduate general chemistry/physical chemistry is expected.  Area of research is open, but theoretical/computational is preferred.  Review of completed applications will begin on December 14, 2009.  The applicant should submit a CV, a statement of teaching philosophy, detailed statement of research plans, copies of transcripts, and arrange to have 3 letters of reference sent to Dr. Adiel Coca, Search Committee Chair, Chemistry Department, Southern Connecticut State University, 501 Crescent Street, New Haven, CT 06515, (Fax: 203 392-6396), email: cocaa2@southernct.edu.
