TAKING THE PLUNGE

Next I needed to decide where to build and place my page. My on-line provider, like most, offers free space, but it is a limited amount and not enough to meet my needs. My employer, a two-year community college in Connecticut, also offers web page space for faculty. Additionally, there are many free web page providers available on the Internet. Most of these sources offer simple templates that make developing a web page fast, easy, and fun. Alternately, writing in Microsoft Word and then saving the text as HTML text is still another option. I tried all of these avenues, and eventually decided to take advantage of my employer’s web page space since this seemed the logical place for an academic web page. You must realize, of course, that these experiments took hours…days…weeks…to accomplish, but the results were rewarding: I learned a great deal and ended up with a terrific web page. NEXT
