Throughout the acedemic year, TKE participates in a variety of charitable events to help local and national organizations. Below is a list of different events TKE either sponsors or participates in throughout the year.

St. Jude's Up-Til-Dawn
Tau Kappa Epsilon and St Jude's Children's Research Hospital bring you "Up-Til-Dawn". This is an annual event in which students and faculty are invited to participate in with hopes of raising money to find a cure for childhood cancer.
TKE Plunge
This March, TKE chapters from all over Connecticut are planning on diving into Long Island Sound to raise money for the Ronald and Nancy Reagan Alzheimer's Research Institute. This will be the fourth straight year TKE has set up this event to raise money. We are also looking to smash last year's donation amount and make the 2007 TKE Plunge the most successful event possible. But we need your help!
Friends of Rudolph
"Friends of Rudolph" is an event sponsored by SCSU and the New Haven Police Department. The program allows children from the surrounding community to come to SCSU's campus and participate in many different activities to brighten their holiday spirits. From decorating reindeer candy canes to coloring a frame for their picture with Frosty the snowman, kids always find something new and fun to do at Friends of Rudolph. TKE is proud to help during this great event.
Relay for Life / Cans for Cancer
The American Cancer Society's Relay for Life came to SCSU's campus in 2005, and it was backed by the Greek Life Council, meaning that many aspects of the event were being run by Greek organizations. Tau Eta had its own team on the track for the whole night, and we rose over $850 for the Relay. Due to the events success, it is already being planned for next year.
KC 101 Stuff-A-Bus
Stuff-A-Bus is an annual event put on by the KC101 Radio Station of Hamden, CT. The boys enjoyed their time spent helping to collect food items for the Connecticut Food Bank. Tau Kappa Epsilon looks forward to helping out with Stuff-A-Bus for as long as they run the event.
MS Walk
On Chilly April 6th Tekes from WCSU (Tau Zeta Chapter) and SCSU (Tau Eta Chapter) walked for the cure of MS and raised over $500 for the "CT-TKE" team. Led by Captain Nick Mukeja all had fun and TKE Chapters from all over the state were walking today. The Kappa Psi chapter from Quinnipiac was in Cheshire, CT, and UConn Tekes were in Manchester, CT. We all look forward to walking for MS in the future!
Car Wash in support of NYC Victims
On The sisters of Kappa Gamma Sorority had a Car wash already scheduled when the horrific acts on September 11th, stopped our way of life. To Show the world and terrorists we are not afraid, we joined the sisters and worked to donate all the proceeds from the car wash to the American Red Cross; which will benefit the disaster relief fund. It was a beautiful day to wash cars as these two Greek groups showed their patriotism and pride by giving of themselves this Saturday (Sept. 29th).
Tau Eta Colony Annual X-mas Mitten Tree Clothing Drive
The Tau Eta Chapter began what we hope is a glorious tradition in 2000 by starting the mitten tree. This annual project was created to show support to the community during the season of giving. A Christmas tree is set up on the stage of the Universities Student Center Cafe and people were asked to donate new mittens, hats, scarves, and gloves. These items are collected during November, December and the first couple of weeks of January. By the end of the program we hope to be able to donate the clothing items to local shelters and battered women centers around the greater New Haven area. Every year we have done this event, we have significantly increased our goals of clothing items.
Distinguished Lecture Series Volunteers
The brothers had the opportunity to volunteer during the Christopher Reeves visit to campus in 2001. There were 7 brothers that helped get that evening's festivities off to a flawless start. Other Lectures Tau Eta brothers have volunteered for include Rudolph Giuliani and Mario Cuomo!
