FACILITIES 

Students have access to over twenty computer labs available throughout the campus including two departmental facilities: a state-of-the-art Unix lab equipped with SUN workstations, two SUN servers, a SUN disk RAID array and a programmable robot; and a Networking and Security laboratory for courses and reseach.  The facilities are administered by the Academic Computer Center.

Computer laboratories are located in different sites on the Southern campus for ease of access and manageability. Computer hardware consists of several major platforms in the industry, IBM compatible PCs which have the Microsoft windows operating system installed, Macs,which have either OS 9 or OS X installed, and in the UNIX Lab, Sun workstations which use Sun's Solaris operating system. 

Laboratory assistants are familiar with software packages installed on lab computers and are able to provide assistance on general use of computers.
