Job Description:
We are seeking a full-time, high-energy, experienced, Network Engineer.
Responsibilities:
Our Network Engineers are focused on delivering network design, implementation, support, and excellent customer service to our clients. The NE is responsible for designing, installing, and documenting networks including operating systems on servers and workstations; implementing internet connectivity, routers, switches, firewalls, virus protection, email systems and back-up; selecting, installing and maintaining applications; identifying new technology solutions, training clients on our solutions, and supporting all existing IT systems both remotely and onsite a client sites.
Experience & Qualifications:
The Network Engineer must have three to five years of relevant, hands-on experience. Specific experience and qualifications desired include:
- Advanced skills in installation and administration of Windows 2000/2003, MS Exchange 2000/2003, Active Directory, SQL Server
- Experience with implementing Firewalls, VPN connections and WAN connectivity, preferably with Cisco products.
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP Wins/DNS/DHCP and the ability to troubleshoot network and internet connectivity issues.
- Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP troubleshooting and configuration.
- Knowledge of supporting MS Office, MS Internet Explorer and MS Outlook.
- Ability to install, configure and test server and workstation hardware including video cards, modems, NICs, sound cards, hard drives, RAID5, tape drives and other devices
- Maintenance of technical competence by keeping abreast of technology and technological developments, practices and procedures.
Education
MCSE (Win2000 or preferably 2003) Certification or equivalent with primary focus on Microsoft solutions. Prefer candidate with undergraduate degree in a technical discipline such as computer science, engineering, etc.

General Knowledge:
The Department of Information Technology is seeking a strong, experienced applications manager for an IT Manager 3 position responsible for coordinated agency IT application development focused on reusable enterprise services, and establishment of related state-wide technical standards, focused on external and internal egovernment (online Web-browser based) architecture that meets stringent state standards for high-availability, secured data access to Data-Center hosted n-tier production applications.
Reporting to a DoIT business development director, the incumbent will supervise the Portal (Web-rendered content management group), the Enterprise Application Services group, and the DoIT business applications support group. IT is expected that the incumbent will develop and inculcate common best practices within the units, including project management, systems development, facilitated requirements development, configuration management, testing, and so forth.

General Knowledge:
The Department of Information Technology is seeking results-oriented team players with good communication and interpersonal skills for two (2) Systems Developer 3 positions initially assigned to the Department of Education (SDE). These positions will be responsible for developing the new Connecticut Educator Certification System (CECS). The incumbents will perform software or applications development including server-based components, desktop component installation as well as provide customization and ongoing support throughout the lifecycle of this project development and deployment. Once that assignment is completed, responsibilities will be to support other agencies' projects and systems.
Preferred Skills and Ability:
- ASP.net, VB.net, ADO.net, VB, Java, Java script, Java servlets, C#, C++, Crystal Enterprise, HTML, DHTML, XML.
- Knowledge and experience with CORBA and SOAP principles, 508 compliance requirements, and web services.
- Experience with source code repositories and migration tools such as SourceSafe and Team Developer.
- Experience with technical designs for complex application concepts and functions.
- Experience with MS Project.
- Experience developing project plans, cost estimates including identification and evaluation of alternatives.
- Experience with leading development teams, creating business and technical specifications, time cost task reporting
Special Knowledge:
Thorough understanding of MS Web Application development and deployment.
General Experience:
Six (6) years' experience in systems analysis and programming.
Special Experience:
One (1) year of the General Experience as a Systems Developer 2.
Substitution Allowed:
College training in management information systems, computer science, electrical engineering, data processing or business may be substituted for the General Experience on the basis of fifteen (15) semester hours equaling six (6) months of experience to a maximum of one (1) year.

Cannondale Associates is seeking to hire two part time employees to work in its Shopper Insights Group. These positions are designed for two days a week (16 hours total). The positions are open to college juniors and seniors.
Interns would be responsible for data set up and configuration as well as for running standardized analyses and performing any neccesary data pulls from our internal and syndicated databases. Interns must have previous experience in SQL programming and Oracle software application tools.
