BE COMFORTABLE IN YOUR GENES
A campaign aims to promote the idea that every body is beautiful. Learn to be comfortable with the real you! Donation boxes will be placed at the below events as well as The Counseling Center, Fitness Center, Health Services and Women's Center for one week. Rather than wondering, "Do I look fat in these "jeans"- why not be comfortable in your "genes?" Get rid of those jeans you've been waiting to fit into and learn to love the real you! All jeans collected will be donated to a local shelter.

Online Screenings
Depression and Eating Disorder Screening events are offered every year through the counseling center. Alcohol and Drug Screening is offered through the D.A.R.C. (Drug and Alcohol Resource Center) every spring.
If you are unable to attend any of the above, or would simply prefer to take the screening in the privacy of your own room, the following website links you to these screenings.

"A beacon of light on Southern's Campus"
University Counseling Services offers a wide variety of resources to help students adjust to life on campus through invidivual and group counseling, outreach and programming and consultative services. Our primary purpose is to provide psychological support as students pursue academic and personal goals and to enhance the quality of their experience at Southern Connecticut State University.
Our center is staffed by licensed counselors, clinical social workers, an APRN and senior level graduate interns who help students in many ways, like learning how to manage their depression or dealing with a family crisis. Students can apply what they learn in the counseling and can begin to effectively deal with problems outside of the counseling setting.
Please visit the many links on this site to learn more about mental health issues and how University Counseling Services can help you!
