Active Minds Student Organization in collaboration with University Counseling Services, The Recycling Center, The Center for the Environment, The Fitness Center and Health and Wellness Center are sponsoring the "Unplug...Tune In and Recharge" Earth Day Yoga Celebration, on Monday, April 23, 2012 from 12:00-2:00pm in the Academic Quad.
"The notion of a salutation to the sun is to pay your respects and surrender to the universe. This can be taken as a metaphor to let go physically - the mind follows as you move 'inside' the practice." ~Author Unknown
While giving back to the Earth and letting go, we shift from our electronic world and have the opporunity to go green for a little while! Yoga gives us the opportunity to connect our minds, bodies and spirits. Earth Day Yoga will allow us to do something healthy and give back at the same time! If we each do one small act of green, our world would be much healthier.
So join us for this fun afternoon, get moving and recharge your life. A $1 donation is suggested and will be collected by ACTIVE MINDS. All proceeds will go the Sustainable Southern efforts on campus and the Fellowship Place in New Haven, that supports those suffering from mental illness.
April 24 Farnham Hall Gear Up for Life Series. Gear Nine: Unity. Do you envy others? Do other's behaviors make you resentful? This interactive workshop that concludes our semester long series.
