Other information for potential applicants

In addition to the program information provided under Graduate Programs, the information in this section may be of interest to those considering applying to our department.

Our students have an extremely active student association, called the CSP Graduate Student Affairs Committee.  View this section to learn about how our students organize and run this group; although as an applicant you are not able to view the Web site that the students maintain, it is very impressive, providing current news in the counseling and school psychology field and within our own department.

Students admitted to the program receive a Student Handbook, detailing their rights and responsibilities within the program.  If you are seriously considering one of our programs, you might want to look at this document to learn more about the expectations you'd have as a matriculated student.

Most of our applicants are comparing numerous schools and programs; in the Links to Professional Associations section, we've placed link to the Web sites of the primary state, regional, and national associations for our three specialization programs.  You can learn more about the fields of school counseling, school psychology, and community counseling by visiting these sites.

Applicants to either of the two school certification programs (school counseling and school psychology) can find more information about the required special education course in that section.  This is a state requirement that all students must meet to be matriculated in either of these two programs.
