Parent Orientation takes place concurrently with day one of New Student Orientation. Parents will attend informational sessions in regards to campus life, both inside and outside the classroom, financial aid and campus safety. Parents will also have the opportunity to ask current students questions about their experiences at the university. Parent Orientation concludes with an informational session and tours of the residential side of campus presented by residence life, for those parents who have students living on campus in the fall, and an informational session containing helpful suggestions and transitions for commuting students.
The Office of Residence Life is happy to provide overnight accommodations for parents or family members in one of their apartment style residence halls at a nominal fee. For more information and to request accommodations, students can log into MySCSU and access the Parent Room Reservation form.
