LETTER OF AGREEMENT

 

Pursuant to Article 10.4 of the Agreement of August 23, 2002, between The Connecticut State University American Association of University Professors, Inc., and the Board of Trustees for The Connecticut State University, the parties agree that an Internship at Southern Connecticut State University is the placement of a student by a department with an outside agency for the purpose of experience related to the student's degree program.

 

Faculty responsibility for internships involves:

 

A.     appropriate placement,

 

B.      adequate on-site supervision and/or regularly scheduled seminars or conferences, and

 

C.     evaluation of student work, including a term paper or comparable major project.

 

Faculty workload credit for supervision of interns shall be computed by the following formula:

 

For each student under the faculty member's supervision, a specific number of "student units" shall be determined as follows:

 

number of student internship credits + 3, up to a maximum of twelve (12)  equals the total number of student units.

 

The total number of student units for all students under the faculty member's supervision shall determine the faculty member's workload credit, at the rate of eighteen (18) student units per one (1) hour load credit.
