LETTER OF AGREEMENT

 

Pursuant to Article 10.4 of the Agreement of August 23, 2002, between The Connecticut State University American Association of University Professors, Inc., and the Board of Trustees for The Connecticut State University, the parties agree that full-time faculty workload credit in the Graduate Program in the Department of Nursing at Southern Connecticut State University shall be computed as follows:

 

Administration and Education Track

1.     Graduate courses in the Department of Nursing's Administration and Educator Tract which have a clinical and field placement or clinical and field supervision (NUR 523, NUR 537, NUR 538) a full-time faculty member shall receive the following hours load credit:

a.     Three and one-half (3.5) hours load credit for up to four (4) students;

b.     Four (4) hours load credit for five (5) to six (6) students;

c.     Four and one-half (4.5) hours load credit for seven (7) students;

d.     Five (5) hours load credit for eight (8) to nine (9) students;

e.     Five and one-half (5.5) hours load credit for ten (10 ) students;

f.     Six (6) hours load credit for eleven (11) to twelve (12) students.

 

Family Nurse Practitioner Track

1.     Student/Faculty ratio for clinical and laboratory courses:

a.     Six (6) to eight (8) students per clinical section for NUR 534, NUR 535, NUR 536;

b.     Ten (10) to fourteen (14) students per clinical section for NUR 526.

 

2.     Faculty members who teach clinical sections of NUR 534, NUR 535, and NUR 536 shall receive five (5) credits per clinical section.

 

 

These ratios shall apply individually, not collectively, and may be waived by the written mutual consent of the faculty member, the department chairperson and the Dean of the School of Health and Human Services.
