PROGRAM OPTIONS
Plan A - Master's Thesis
In addition to the core, Plan A requires a thesis and one or two additional 3 credit courses. Students enroll in CHE 590, Research and Thesis, for 6 (2 additional courses required) to 9 (1 additional course required) credits. The thesis is based on experimental research acceptable to the department. Completion of the thesis is followed by a thesis defense.
Plan B - Comprehensive Examination
In addition to the core, Plan B requires 12 graduate credits of coursework as well as successful passage of a comprehensive examination.
The
comprehensive
examination consists of questions associated with the six core courses
and is held twice a year.

scheduled date for the comprehensive examination is: Saturday
December 16, 2006
(Noon-3:00PM)
Core courses are offered on a two year rotating schedule. One or two elective courses are offered each semester and topics vary according to a five year rotating schedule. (Fall 2006 - Spring 2012 Schedule)
