ABOUT NEW HAVEN

Southern Connecticut State University is located in the city of New Haven, Connecticut. New Haven borders Long Island sound and is approximately 2 hours east of New York City and 2 hours west of Boston. The city of New Haven and the greater New Haven area offer many points of interest: sandy beaches, historic treasures, spectacular architecture, many unusual museums, beautiful parks and several major universities and colleges.

Within a radius of about 75 miles of New Haven there are numerous attractions such as the Mystic Aquarium and Seaport; the Norwalk Aquarium; the Beardsley Zoo; the Goodspeed Opera House and the Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun Resort Casinos.

 


The graduate academic programs of the Department of Communication Disorders are accredited by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association's (ASHA) Council on Academic Accreditation (CAA). Clinical services offered by the departmental Center for Communication Disorders, hold ASHA Professional Services Accreditation.
