DEPARTMENTAL FACILITIES

The following facilities are available for use by our programs and form and integral part of them:

The Center for Communication Disorders (CCD) is an on-campus public service clinic for the evaluation and treatment of communication disorders. The CCD serves as the clinical component of the academic program. Clinical services are accredited by the Professional Services Board of the American Speech - Language - Hearing Association.

The Audiology Clinic is part of the CCD and offers behavioral and electrophysiological evaluation for both peripheral and and central auditory function as well as aural rehabilitation, hearing aid fitting services and auditory training for auditory processing disorders

The Center for Adaptive Technology assists individuals with a variety of disabilities through the latest in computer technology. Evaluation and treatment services are offered.

The Speech and Hearing Science Laboratory is used for clinical diagnosis and treatment and for research and training. The laboratory houses acoustic and physiologic measurement instrumentation and imaging devices.

A Graduate Student Lounge, provided by the University, is located for easy access from clinical and classroom areas.

bullet

A Graduate Student Workroom is situated within the Department and may be used by students for clinical and academic preparation.

bullet

An Educational Technology Resource Laboratory, located within the program's facilities, is available to students for word processing, Internet access and other computer conveniences as well as training in educational and adaptive technology.

Multimedia Classrooms are located within the program facilities and are available for teaching and special events.

bullet

Buley Library is a full-service academic library available to all University students. It includes computer laboratories and multimedia services. 


The graduate academic programs of the Department of Communication Disorders are accredited by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association's (ASHA) Council on Academic Accreditation (CAA). Clinical services offered by the departmental Center for Communication Disorders, hold ASHA Professional Services Accreditation.
