UNDERGRADUATE SPECIALIZATION

The undergraduate specialization in communication disorders is a pre - professional program designed for students who anticipate earning a master's degree in speech pathology. Students enroll as a major in the Department of Communication with a specialization in Communication Disorders.

Undergraduates complete the University requirements for a Bachelor of Arts degree. Students also complete 25 observation hours of practicing speech-language pathologists and audiologists, as well as 30 hours of volunteer work and observation of children with and without developmental delays.

The graduate academic programs of the Department of Communication Disorders are accredited by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association's (ASHA) Council on Academic Accreditation (CAA). Clinical services offered by the departmental Center for Communication Disorders, hold ASHA Professional Services Accreditation.
