The Ethnic Heritage Center would like to welcome you to our website.  We are an  association of five different ethnic historical societies founded in 1988 and united by the desire to collect, preserve and disseminate our histories, and to use these histories to celebrate cultural differences and similarities.  Member societies include:

Connecticut Irish-American Historical Society

Italian-American Historical Society of Connecticut

Jewish Historical Society of Greater New Haven

Connecticut Ukrainian-American Historical Society

Our goals are many:

• Foster a greater recognition, understanding and appreciation of all members of our diverse ethnic population by promoting a more friendly, harmonious and cooperative community.

• Expand community outreach and participation, as well as programming, throughout the state.

• Use archival resources for development of audio-visual materials, exhibits, publications and special events.

• Promote active use of the Center’s archival collections by scholars, students and individuals.
