To assist in the grading of student competency in the athletic training room, palm pilots were purchased through the Dept. of Exercise Science for each of the three faculty members. Now students can be graded as they complete various skills performed in the athletic training room....Nathan & Gary are currently trying to put together an anatomy website to assist students in their anatomy instruction. As the website grows it will also include instruction in manual muscle testing & special tests...In an improvement to the medical data system, we are using Sportsware 2003 which is placed on the university server. We are now able to communicate medical records between MFH and Pelz more easily. Soon we will have the software running on palm pilots as well so notes can be done on the field...We are now mobile, in the

summer of 2002, the athletic department purchased two golf carts to transport supplies to the field and the non-walking wounded from it...The students had the rare opportunity to deal with elite athletes last year, and did not have to leave campus. Kateema Riettie, a two-time national champion in the javelin, is a member of the Jamaican National Team. Ben Michaelson finished his tenure at Southern with 10 national titles and a roster spot on the US National Swimming Team. The men's soccer team continues as a NCAA power and the women's basketball team was a NCAA basketball selection. Although a Division II University, our students continue to experience athletes at some of the highest levels of competition.....Sharon Misasi, former program coordinator and now chair of the Dept of Exercise Science has remained active
