 The
Athletic Training Students have their own university-funded organization,
the Sports
Medicine Club. It serves the Athletic Training
Students by offering the opportunity to join together socially
and present themselves professionally in the university and local
community. In addition to holding regular meetings during the
year, the Sports Medicine Club sponsors various social and fund-raising
events. Club members have attended professional conferences, and
use the funds from these events to support these endeavors.
Of particular interest is the annual trip to
the Eastern Athletic Trainers Association in January. This trip,
partially funded by the university and supervised by a faculty
sponsor, provides an opportunity for students to establish professional
contacts and continue their education in a slightly different
atmosphere.
