Graduate Council - Procedures Committee

The Procedures Committee is charged with the responsibility to "make recommendations to the Council for equitable membership among the voting units according to parameters established by the Council; recommend criteria and changes for the qualifications, nomination and acceptance of Graduate Faculty; review nominations and make recommendations for new members of the Graduate Faculty to the Graduate Council; make recommendations to the Council on all matters pertaining to the Rules of Order of the Council or, if appropriate, any standing rules the Council or a committee of the Council may seek to adopt that will affect the organization and business of the Council; make recommendations to the Council pertaining to formal interaction with other university committees, organizations and offices; present a slate of nominees and conduct the election of officers annually; advise the Council on all matters pertaining to elections, recall and referendum matters, coordinating with the Faculty Senate in any referendun that is required; notify, prior to April 1st, through its Chair, each voting unit of vacancies in the Office of Graduate Councilor for the following academic year." The Procedures Committee meets at 12:00 PM each Monday before the schedule meeting of the Graduate Council. For the 2005-2006 academic year the meetings are held in EN C009. The Procedures Committee evaluates each Nomination to the Graduate Faculty on a monthly basis during the academic calendar year. Completed nomination forms should be forwarded to the Office of the School of Graduate Studies for copying and distribution to the committee. Those forms submitted up to two weeks prior to the next scheduled meeting of the Procedures Committee will be evaluated (time permitting).
