Lost & Found
Buley Library maintains a lost and found box at the Circulation Desk for any personal items found in the library. This is the first place to check when looking for any missing items. The Computer Labs on the fourth floor of Buley, as well as Campus Police, should also be contacted if you still haven’t found your lost items. The University Police Department is located in the Granoff Health Center and can be contacted at (203) 392-5375.

Lost Student IDs
Students are responsible for reporting lost or stolen student IDs to the Circulation Desk as soon as possible. If the library is not notified that you've lost your ID, you may be held responsible for any material checked out under your name.

A new student ID can be obtained by going to the University Card Office in the Wintergreen Building, Room 109-110. A fee will be charged for the replacement of lost, stolen, or damaged cards. The first replacement fee will be $10.00; all other replacements thereafter will be $20.00.

Photocopiers
Photocopy machines are located on the ground and first floors of the library. These copiers will only accept the Hoot Loot Card and cost 11 cents per page. Hoot Loot card holders can add to their account from the Card Value Centers in Buley Library, Engleman Hall, Adanti Student Center, the Police Station, and on the Web at the University Card Office Website. Library guests can obtain a Hoot Card on the first floor, adjacent to the reference desk. The card will cost $1.00 and money can be added for copying.

Telephones & Cell Phones
Currently the library doesn’t have any pay phones. In case of an emergency, ask a staff member at one of the public service desks to use the phone. Please keep your conversation as brief as possible since our phones are for library business.

As a courtesy to others, please turn off cell phones when entering the library. Cell phones aren’t allowed in the main areas of the library but can be used in the outer lobby of Buley and in the front and back inside stairwells.

Restrooms
Restrooms are available on each floor. Wheelchair accessible restrooms are located on the first floor of the library.

Emergencies
Please report any emergencies to the Circulation Desk or any library personnel in the area. Everyone must evacuate the library immediately when the fire alarm sounds and remain outside until Police or Fire Department personnel announce that it's safe to reenter the library.

Food/Drink
Food and drink are prohibited in the library to protect all library material and computer equipment. Library patrons are asked to take all food and drink outside the library.

Smoking
Southern Connecticut State University is a smoke-free campus and is prohibited in all University buildings. Smoking is allowed outside the library, with ashtrays provided for cigarette disposal.
