Reserve Policy

1.    Any Faculty or Staff member who is currently teaching a course, workshop, seminar, etc. may place non-print media materials on reserve in the Media Resources Center for the semester in which the course, workshop or seminar is taught.

2.    All non-print media that is to be placed on reserve in the MRC* should be properly labeled by the instructor and accompanied by a MRC Reserve Form sheet (Pink Form).

3.    It will take one working day to process, label and log any non-print material sent to the MRC before it is placed on the reserve shelf.

4.    All items placed on reserve will be filed by department, class, and instructor(s). eg. English, Lit 200, Ort.

5.    No reserve materials may be taken out of the MRC without the approval of the LRC staff supervisor or the faculty member who assigned the materials to the reserve area.

6.    When using reserve materials all patrons MUST have a valid updated SCSU ID/Library card. No other ID forms are to be accepted when loaning out reserve materials. If the patron has no SCSU ID card they are to be sent to Engleman RM* 16 to get a card.

7.    All reserve materials are to be used in the MRC. Instructors may take the material to the classroom for their class use.

8.    Some reserve materials, in audio or video cassette format, can be copied for a patron unless they are copyright protected or if the faculty member has requested otherwise. If you are not sure check with the Director  or a supervisor.
