CLIENT CONTACT HOURS:
Clinical client contact, defined by the AAMFT Commission on Accreditation
is face-to-face (therapist and client) therapeutic intervention. Activities
such as telephone contact (other than calls of extended duration where
subsequent billing occurs), case planning, observation of therapy,
participation in a treatment team (other than as an in-the-room therapist,)
record-keeping, travel, administrative activities, consultation with
community members or professionals, or supervision, are not considered
clinical contact. Assessments may be counted if they are face-to-face
processes that are more than clerical in nature and focus.
