MISSION STATEMENT
Collaborating and partnering with faculty, staff, and students of SCSU in applying Information Technology to achieve their goals and deliver technology solutions to the campus community.
STRATEGIC THEMES
- Deliver IT products and services to continue to support the evolving needs of faculty, staff, and students.
- Operate and improve the IT environment to meet the needs of our customers; continue to define, refine, and build the SCSU IT architecture and infrastructure.
- Engage the University community to identify Information Technology needs, and to use information technology in a way that adds value to the community's activities.
- Use technology to facilitate information acquisition, assessment and dissemination.
- Measure and track organizational performance, customer satisfaction, and unit accountability.
- Leverage teams to respond to customers' individual and collective needs, emphasizing opportunities for collaboration and economies of scale, both within the university and across the CSU system.
- Plan IT work intentionally: practice prioritization, resource management, and work allocation.

- Become a regional leader in the use of technology to support student learning.
- Enhance the effective use of technology in the classroom.
- Enhance the University’s opportunities for non-place-bound education.
- Strengthen the University’s existing online programs.
- Increase the number and/or percentage of hybrid courses.
- Develop distance education programs for the community.
- Develop an effective information management system to inform decision-making in all areas of the University.
- Identify and organize IT functions that are required to meet University-wide needs into an architectural framework that facilitates planning and implementation activities of integrated solutions.
- Define appropriate roles and responsibilities for each level of the University IT framework.
- Allocate appropriate resources for each layer of the University IT framework.
- Implement processes that support aligning IT solutions to user needs.
- Implement programs to support ongoing alignment of IT solutions with University needs.
- Develop and implement a Strategic Information Technology Plan that takes full advantage of existing IT resources, better organizes the deployment of those resources, and builds a sustainable infrastructure to move Southern fully into the 21st century.
