Inclined Plane

PHY 100 & 103

This experiment illustrates the relationship between time, velocity, and acceleration. Students will calculate the average velocity of an object, the instantaneous velocity of the object at distance d, and the acceleration of the object. The handout used is "Uniform and Accelerated Motion".

Equipment

Name Location Quantity
Blocks, Small Wooden JE-105A-S20 2 per table
Balls, Metal - 2" JE-105A-S22 1 per table
Timer - 389 JE-105A-D62 1 per table
Tape, Masking JE-105A-D71 1 per table
Meter Stick - 2.00m JE-105A-(105 Door-L) 1 per table

Notes

The two wooden blocks are used to raise the table end that touches the wall. Place one wooden block under each of the two table legs.

Make sure that the room has plenty of paper.
