Program
The baccalaureate social work program of Southern Connecticut State
University is a 42 credit program leading to the Bachelor of Science
degree in Social Work. One of five accredited undergraduate social
work programs in Connecticut, it is designed to prepare students
for beginning generalist social work practice and/or for graduate
social work education in an accredited school of social work throughout
the United States. Based on a liberal arts foundation, the program
provides for a basic knowledge of the social welfare system and
the essential knowledge and skills required for beginning social
work practice.
